Three Great Quick Tips
1. Try This Superb Google Search Tip Right Now!
Google Search Operators. Heard of them? These are characters or words that narrow down, or enhance your search query for more specific results, saving you mucho tiempo. My top three? NOT, AND, OR. Example if you want to search for recipes for paella but not ones containing prawns you’d search: recipe paella NOT prawns.
You could also do the opposite to save yourself an additional search by using AND. Here you could put Galaxy 6 AND 7 if you wanted to find out more about both models.
Here is a link to all the search operators
2. Those Darn Merged Cells in Excel
Ever try to sort an Excel list and it won’t? ‘Merged cells’ it tells you, even though you might not see where they are.
To unmerge cells go to Home ribbon>Alignment tab> select the Merge and Centre drop down arrow>Unmerge cells.
Like this tip? Consider enrolling into Excel Productivity Quick Tip Boot Camp. If you use Excel for lists it WILL save you hours of your life. Find out more here.
3. Health & Wellbeing – Children and Chores
Oh my goodness, getting the kids to do their ‘jobs’ when they were young was so hard. If one of the six was asked to unload the dishwasher, the answer was “why do I have to do it” (meaning why pick me over my five other brothers/sisters). So we developed a rotating job chart and stuck it on the fridge. Here’s one in Word that you can download and change to suit.
If you are starting from scratch, you might want to write an extensive list of everything that has to be done to run and maintain the house and family: Cleaning, shopping, cooking, gardening, homework help, driving, sports, sickness, etc.
Using this list, separate out the things that only an adult can do. (As your children age, add more responsibilities so you don’t get lazy lugs lying on the sofa on their miniature screens). This gives you more balance; it helps them mature; take responsibility and learn.
Extra Tip: Allocate a role called ‘extra jobs’. This person will cover the chores of someone who is not home.
Online Social Media Training
