1. Finding That Photo!!! Smartphone Camera Tip
Has this past holiday season added even more photos on your phone? Plus, if your phone is like mine, you’ll have thousands of photos. So. How can you find that certain one more easily than scrolling, scrolling, scrolling?
If your smartphone location setting isn’t turned on, do turn it on now (it’s in the camera app). This allows the camera to pinpoint exactly where you’ve taken the photo. Why is this useful?
If you had location on, you can
- Search your photos by location. Just type the location into your smartphone image gallery search bar
- View your photos on a map. While connected to the internet, click the details/info on your photo, It will appear superimposed on a map; along with the other photos you’ve taken at that location
- For the iPhone, you set Location via Settings> Location Services >Camera and click the circled I at the bottom of the image.

3. PowerPoint Morph (Transition)
Do you use PowerPoint? No? go to the next tip.
If yes, do you ever need to emphasis something on a slide? If you’re mentally nodding your head in agreement then you will love this utterly fabulous and useful tip – Morph. It will enlarge, add, delete, move items and do it as if they are flowing. It actually is a slide transition, which is the movement from one slide to another – not objects within one slide. That is animation.
To create the morph movement, simply duplicate the slide. On the duplicate, make the adjustments you want and set the slide transition (transition ribbon in PowerPoint, morph is the second choice).
Have a look here at the Microsoft how-to video (1 min. 15 sec long). https://support.office.com/en-us/article/use-the-morph-transition-in-powerpoint-8dd1c7b2-b935-44f5-a74c-741d8d9244ea
4. Are You Concerned About Privacy?
My husband Steve finally convinced me that it was time to upgrade my phone. I’ve been using a Samsung Galaxy 8 for ages and it still works perfectly. However agree to get a new phone I did.
Then the question was stay with Galaxy for the 23 series or move to the iPhone 14? My initial thought was that all the kids and Steve were on iPhone so great, but then I thought of all the time I would want to slam that iPhone against the wall in frustration from having to learn a whole new operating system after years of Samsung.
This is why Steve convinced me.
Two words, Privacy and Security. Apple have a much greater focus on both these issues. Chrome the default and most widely used browser on Android systems is one of the primary ways Google gathers information about you – and l remember that Google is in the business of selling advertising. Safari (the default browser on an iPhone/iPad) follows the Apple practise of limiting and allowing you to more fully control the information shared by you.
